Our Commitment To Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. To better protect your privacy we provide this notice explaining our privacy of information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. To make this notice easy to find, we make it available on our homepage and at points where personally identifiable information may be requested.
The Information We Collect:
This notice applies to all information collected or submitted on the United Through Reading website. On some pages, you can submit survey information, make requests, and register to receive materials. The types of personal information collected at these pages may include:
- Email address
- Phone number
You also have the opportunity to make financial donations to United Through Reading via a link on our page to a third party’s site. That site will gather contact information as well as the financial information necessary to complete the donation.
The Way We Use/Share Information:
We use the information you provide about yourself to complete your request of us, or in the case of surveys from program participants, to add to our data about specific programs. We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to complete your request.
We use return email addresses to answer the email we receive. Such addresses are not used for any other purpose and are not shared with outside parties.
You can register with our website to receive our newsletters, program reports, and information about special events. Registration information is not shared with outside parties. We also provide an opportunity to remove your name from the registration list with each message that we send.
We use non-identifying and aggregate information to better design our website. For example, by using web site statistics we can determine which pages are most important to our visitors and then expand those pages or make them easier to find.
We will not sell or exchange your personal information including your name, mailing or e-mail addresses, phone numbers or web addresses.
Finally, we never use or share the personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to the ones described above without first asking your permission, and providing you an opportunity to opt-out or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses.
United Through Reading takes the protection of our donors’ financial information very seriously. All donations links on this site direct the user to a secure online payment system powered by either Classy.org, Network for Good, or PayPal. All financial information that is given directly to United Through Reading via mail, email, fax or phone, containing banking or credit card information is maintained in compliance with applicable laws and industry standards.
Our Commitment To Data Security
United Through Reading uses appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.
Our Commitment To Children’s Privacy:
Protecting the privacy of children is especially important. For that reason, we do not knowingly collect or maintain information from children under the age of 13.
