Service Members:
Check our Current Program Location list to see if your command has a United Through Reading site. If your command already has United Through Reading, you can sign up to make a recording. With the assistance of your command’s UTR volunteer, you can choose from a selection of books of varying topics and age ranges. The volunteer will then assist you in making your private recording. Once you have finished your recording, the volunteer will give you the video, and (at most recording locations) the book, which you can then mail to your young loved one.
If your command does not have United Through Reading, please contact us at military@utr.org. We will work with your command leadership to establish a program.
With our FREE and SECURE app, you can now make UTR recordings anytime, anywhere. Our app is available on Android and iOS. Free books are provided by United Through Reading’s donors for service members to read and the children in their lives to read along with their recordings. Family Members:
Check our Current Program Location list to see if your service member’s command participates in United Through Reading or if they are located near an existing (or established) UTR site. If there is a site near them, encourage them to participate!
If your service member’s command does not offer UTR, please contact us at military@utr.org. We will work with their command leadership to establish a program.
Volunteers:
United Through Reading Volunteers make our program possible. Volunteers can serve in a variety of ways: executing program delivery in deployed locations, spreading the word about our mission in your community, hosting a virtual book drive, volunteering your talents as a writer or graphic designer, assisting with social media, attending events, and more! Supporters:
Supporters can participate by: attending events, advocating for our services and mission, donating money, or fundraising.
Site Coordinator:
United Through Reading Site Coordinators are our volunteers at the tip of the spear, providing the opportunity for service members to participate in our program, most often in deployed locations. Visit our Volunteer Resources page to access additional online resources.
