The important work of UTR is made possible by people like you who contribute their unique backgrounds, talents, and skill levels. Our needs change based on current events, adding flexibility to get you involved in an area that inspires you the most!

Help Us Send Home More Bedtime Stories!

Recording Booth Operator

We often have opportunities to bring a “pop-up studio” to a location where service members can make recordings around the country. At these events, our volunteers help the service members make their videos and select books appropriate for the children receiving the video. These volunteers capture the special moments that are sent home to family.

Program Advocate

Supporters of our program who live or work within a military community identify locations that would benefit from the UTR program and work with a UTR Program Manager to publicize the program and assist as needed. The Program Advocate is the eyes and ears of our program in the field.

Mobile Story Station – San Diego & Washington D.C. area

Mobile Story Station Operator

Help service members create their videos and select books appropriate for the children receiving the video. The operator will capture the special moments that are sent home to family and encourage people to participate.

Mobile Story Station Driver

Drive the Mobile Story Station to various events in the greater San Diego area. A valid driver license is required. Insurance is provided. The driver is responsible for picking up and returning the Mobile Story Station to its permanent parking location.
