Melanie Sheridan

As the Director of Marketing and Communications, Melanie manages United Through Reading’s communications and social media channels and works with the Vice President of Development to tell the story of United Through Reading in order to grow awareness and participation across both the civilian and military communities.

Melanie Sheridan comes to United Through Reading with more than 20 years of marketing experience. She started behind the scenes in radio and then, in 2008, went on to establish her own online presence through a lifestyle blog where she partnered with several national brands. She transitioned to freelance where she has been consulting with small businesses on social media strategy and content. Melanie credits her mother for her love of reading. Both of them rarely leave home without a book. The two titles Melanie has re-read most are Little Women and A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. Melanie is married to a Navy veteran and they have one college-aged son.
