Opportunity Descriptions
Represent United Through Reading at an event on a military installation or in the community. At these events, our volunteers provide information to military families. They may or may not assist service members and veterans in creating video recordings and selecting books suitable for the children receiving them. Exact responsibilities are event-dependent.
Service members, Veterans, and those who work with them help establish a recording site where service members and Veterans can make video recordings. They also help publicize the site and assist as needed.
Share about United Through Reading on your personal social media channels. Prepackaged posts will be provided through #UTRambassador emails, along with training and guidelines to help you create posts that engage readers and encourage them to support UTR's mission.
Help keep service members and Veterans connected to the important children in their lives by hosting a fundraiser or virtual book drive for United Through Reading.
Using the United Through Reading App, service members and veterans video-record themselves reading a book and share the recording with United Through Reading. These recordings may be featured as a Spotlight Video, available to all UTR App users, and/or added to our collection of stories shared with educators nationwide as part of our Veterans Day Initiative.
