As the Director of Special Programs, Penney works with military and community partners all around the world to bring the special experience and resources of the United Through Reading directly to service members and their families. She has been committed to the nonprofit sector for over ten years with a strong background in Program Coordination and Donor Relations. She is also a proud graduate of The Ohio State University.
As the spouse of an Active Duty Sailor and the mother of an amazing son, she thrives on her passion for helping military families stay connected, no matter the distance. Outside of her role at United Through Reading, she serves as a Consultant for The Comfort Crew for Military Kids and Budget for Baby Instructor at the Navy Marine Corps Relief Society.
