United Through Reading’s Inaugural East Coast Road Show is kicking off soon!
The Mobile Story Station will travel 1000 miles and make four stops to visit military families throughout Virginia and North Carolina, beginning September 26, 2022.
The first ever East Coast Road Show is bringing the Mobile Story Station to places it’s never been before, including down the coast to North Carolina!
Here’s a rundown of the stops:
9.26 Joint Expeditionary Base-Little Creek Fort Story Area (private event) Virginia Beach, VA
9.28 All American Week Fort Bragg, NC
9.30 Liberty Military Housing Neighborhood Camp Lejeune, NC
10.3 Wounded Warrior Battalion Camp Lejeune, NC
The journey is designed for United Through Reading to visit military families and spread the word about our free program. The Mobile Story Station allows service members to sit back, relax with a book, and make video recordings of themselves reading for their loved ones.
Molly Haskin, Director of Army and Air Force Programs; Laura Steiner, Program Manager Navy, East; Catherine Homburg, Program Manager; Anna Clark, Program Coordinator, Washington, DC and Mobile Story Station East; and Angel Pavey, Program Assistant, will be road tripping with 1500 books to give out to military and Veteran families throughout the week.
Catherine Homburg, Program Manager says, “Bringing the Mobile Story Station East to North Carolina installations is very exciting! I’m looking forward to demonstrating to servicemembers how quick and easy it is to make a recording, but how big of an impact it will have on the kiddos they give the recording and book too.”
United Through Reading’s newest Mobile Story Station was unveiled in May at Union Station in Washington, D.C., during our Tribute to Military Families, in partnership with BAE Systems. The East Coast Road Show is made possible by Carter’s Inc. Charitable Foundation and USAA.
