Today is Read for the Record!
We are joining forces with Jumpstart for their Read for the Record® campaign to mobilize millions of children and adults worldwide to participate in the largest shared reading experience and break the world record. We’re doing our part to make sure our military families are involved and reading, no matter where they are!

What are we reading?
An adorable story written by Kelly Bennett, Not Norman: A Goldfish Story. It’s all about finding a new friend in an unexpected place. Today, we’re asking you to get involved and help our military kids get in on the reading action.

Active Duty Volunteers & Service Members
Pick up your copy of Not Norman today to record for the child in your life, then send UTR your photos (email stories@utr.org) or share your activity with us on Facebook! (If you do, you’ll be entered to win a special prize pack of holiday books and props for your UTR reading location!)

Employees at the Pentagon’s Navy Federal Credit Union get excited about Norman during a United Through Reading Read for the Record event this week!

Military families at home
If you are a military spouse or caregiver at home, today is the day to break the record! If you don’t have your copy of Not Norman yet, you can read online with Jumpstart here. Be ready to record your child reading and share them with us!
