PART-TIME MARKETING & SOCIAL MEDIA ASSOCIATE
REPORTS TO: Director of Marketing and Communications
FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Part-time, Non-exempt
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with the social media content calendar with guidance from the Director of Marketing and Communications
- Create basic graphics and short-form videos/reels for social media
- Assist with email marketing campaigns
- Assist with the blog calendar
- Assist with analytics and reporting
- Collaborate with internal staff and partners to gather assets and content needed for marketing activities
- Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Demonstrated experience managing social media platforms for a brand or organization
- Familiarity with social media scheduling tools
- Experience with graphic design software (Canva or Adobe Suite preferred)
- Email marketing experience (ActiveCampaign preferred)
- Strong writing skills with an ability to tailor messages for different platforms and audiences
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines
- Experience working with content contributors or stakeholders to develop marketing materials
- Experience with website management tools (WordPress preferred)

WORK ENVIRONMENT: United Through Reading is a virtual organization; most daily tasks are performed from home or personal office space, utilizing online services and video/audio conferencing. Home or personal office space must have stable broadband Internet access and nominal storage space for supplies. Reliable mobile telephone service, including voice, text, and data, is required. Some travel may be requested to support local or national events, but is not expected in this role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
SALARY RANGE: $20-$24 per hour, commensurate with experience. The typical work week is estimated at 15 hours per week.
