Join United Through Reading and Read Across America!

It’s almost March and that means at United Through Reading we’re gearing up for Read Across America month—get ready to join us!

On March 2, United Through Reading will kick off the National Education Association’s Read Across America campaign for the month of March, an annual reading motivation and awareness program, to help encourage every child, in every community, to celebrate reading starting on Dr. Seuss’ Birthday, March 2.

During Read Across America month we encourage our service members to record special Dr. Seuss stories for kids back home.  At United Through Reading locations around the world, including select USO sites, service members are ready to crack open their Dr. Seuss books and don their Dr. Seuss “Cat in the Hat” hats to record a Dr. Seuss classic for their loved ones.

UTR VOLUNTEERS: If you are a United Through Reading active duty volunteer, prep for Read Across America and then share your activity with us on Facebook in the month of March at facebook.com/unitedthroughreading.

MILITARY FAMILIES: If you are a military spouse, get your kids ready for the reading celebration and be ready to record their reactions to their UTR videos featuring the silliest rhymes from Dr. Seuss!  Share your pictures, videos  and stories with us on Facebook, or send them to stories@utr.org.

UTR FRIEND: If you are a UTR supporter and friend, help us continue to serve our military families through wonderful campaigns like Read Across America.  Text the letters “UTR” to 20222 to give $10 to United Through Reading today, or visit us online to donate.  Remember—a gift is a gift no matter how small—and your gift makes a big difference to military families.
