Virtual Storytime with a Service Member is Back!

Celebrate Veterans Day with Storytime and Connection

This Veterans Day, bring your classroom a special storytime experience that connects students with the men and women who serve our country.

United Through Reading’s Storytime with a Service Member invites teachers, homeschoolers, and community educators to share stories read aloud by service members from every branch of the U.S. military.

Since starting, more than 1,000 classrooms—from preschool through high school—have joined us to celebrate literacy, service, and connection.

"When a service member is gone, and they don't have that connection to our home life routine. Like, say, reading a book, I love that United Through Reading can provide an outlet for that. That the service member can read one of their favorite books together and just bring them a little bit closer, even if they're really far away."
