STEM the Summer Slide in 2021 with our latest books

May 24, 2021

This summer maintain your reading routine with our STEM the Summer Slide books coming soon to your local Story Station.

The “summer slide” is what happens when young minds sit idle during summer break. Statistics tell us that children who don’t read over the summer lose more than two months of reading achievement. By sixth grade, those children will be two years behind their peers who don’t slide.

For military families, parents can make recordings on our app which can help support their summer reading routine. Three of four military families using United Through Reading’s program established and maintained reading routines, helping to create predictable patterns in their children’s lives. Every year we STEM the Summer Slide with support from our partner, Northrop Grumman!

Check out these books all about science, technology, engineering, and math topics for kids of all ages – from babies to teens.
