We are proud to create partnerships and alliances with socially conscious corporations and nonprofits whose missions focus on supporting military families. From employee engagement programs to virtual book drives, United Through Reading cultivates partnership opportunities that support our mission of uniting military families through reading.  Our strategic alliances extend our impact and maximize every dollar raised.

The Association of the United States Army’s (AUSA) Family Programs Directorate addresses Army family concerns on a number of Department of Defense and Department of the Army boards, councils, and working groups, and through legislative efforts. AUSA promotes United Through Reading to its members through media and at their annual conference.

United Through Reading is proud to be a National Reading Promotion Partner for The Center for the Book in the Library of Congress. The national network for The Center for the Book calls attention to the importance of books, reading, literacy and libraries.

Esposas Militares Hispanas USA Armed Forces offer support and information in Spanish to Hispanic military spouses to better understand military life. UTR partners with EMHUSA to reach our Hispanic Military Families and offers resources to them in Spanish.

The Military Family Advisory Network connects military families to the resources, people, and information they depend on to successfully navigate military life. UTR partners with MFAN to bring books and our program to military families.

We join the National Education Association’s Read Across America Day every year to ensure that military families may participate in the program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading on March 2, the birthday of beloved children’s author Dr. Seuss.

The National Military Family Association works to strengthen and protect millions of military families through its advocacy and programs. They help connect military families with quality resources, like UTR, to help them weather the challenges of deployment and military life.

Operation Shower hosts baby showers for thousands of military moms providing amazing must-haves and a chance to celebrate. We partner together in order to put classic children books in their hands and ensure new parents are aware of our free programs to help the military parent bond despite any separation.

Our Military Kids supports military children by funding sports, arts, and other enrichment activities when their parents are deployed overseas with the National Guard or Reserve or recovering from severe injuries sustained in a post-9/11 overseas mission. Participation in these activities helps military children cope with stress and build self-confidence during an otherwise difficult time in their lives.

Reading is Fundamental (RIF) is the largest children’s literacy nonprofit in the U.S; they inspire children to be lifelong readers by delivering free books and literacy resources. We team up for a series of events, e.g. book distributions and celebrity guest readers, for military children and their families.

Sesame Street for Military Families provides innovative, curriculum-based programming that uses multiple media to address children’s critical developmental needs. They offer bilingual materials and resources to support military families coping with difficult transitions in their lives, including deployment, homecomings, changes, and the death of a parent.

ZERO TO THREE and United Through Reading collaborate on opportunities to share information with the public about the application of this program with military families with very young children through webinars and broadcast news.
