United Through Reading proudly welcomes Carrie Valentine Fuller, MBA as our new Chief Executive Officer. Carrie has been part of the UTR family since early 2025, leading the advancement team to record-breaking impact and national recognition.

A passionate storyteller, strategist, and advocate for military families, Carrie brings over two decades of leadership experience in nonprofit growth, fundraising, and communications.

As CEO, she will guide UTR’s next phase of growth by enhancing App 2.0 and expanding regional programming and partnerships that strengthen family connections through reading.

Carrie is a graduate of the University of Utah and the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where her commitment to leadership, collaboration, and lifelong learning was deepened and solidified.

Outside of her work, Carrie enjoys reading, cycling, and cheering for her alma mater, especially during March Madness and football season, with her two chocolate labs, Tank and Zoey.

“Stories strengthen families, and families strengthen our nation,” says Fuller. “That’s what drives everything we do at United Through Reading.”

Sally Ann Zoll, Ed.D., will continue to serve as Executive Chairman of the United Through Reading Board of Trustees, providing strategic guidance and continuity as UTR continues to grow and innovate.

Together, we look forward to the next chapter of connecting #TheNextMillion military families through reading.
