Who Was? History Bee Champion
Supports Military Families

June 10, 2020

Quade Kelley, a fifth-grader from Encinitas, Calif., had one focus — to be the very first National Champion of The Who Was? History Bee, a contest inspired by the Who Was? series of children’s biographies of important historical figures and a series that United Through Reading often sends to our Story Stations around the world.

Quade’s dedication paid off! He was just named a 2020 Who Was? History Bee Champion! And who did he pick to receive the $500 charitable gift portion of his winnings?

You guessed it, United Through Reading!

Quade and his family are long-time friends of United Through Reading, his grandfather Alex was a founding trustee and established the Alex G. Kelley Planned Giving Society.

We are absolutely blown away by Quade’s love of reading and spirit of giving, and so were some of our biggest supporters, including Steve Swinton.

“In honor of Alex and Quade, I will match Quade’s $500 gift
and challenge all of my UTR friends to do likewise.”

Can you join our biggest supporters and celebrate Quade by making a matching gift today?
