Tonya Wood
Senior Director of Community Engagement | Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, NJ
As a Programs team member, Tonya brings United Through Reading to the National Guard and Reserve, focusing on Army and Air Force programs. Her mission is to increase program awareness and utilization through outreach, event participation, and embedded recording sites. Additionally, Tonya coordinates Yellow Ribbon participation for United Through Reading as a resource across all military guard and reserve programs.
Before her new role, Tonya served as a UTR volunteer at Fort Wainwright and Eielson Air Force Base, bringing recordings to service members in Alaska. She has also worked as a substitute teacher and homeschools her two children. Currently an Army Reserve family, they live in New Jersey and enjoy reading, traveling, and exploring in their free time.
